Alan Buchan and Cr Crichlow ready for Bring on SpringBroadwater Parklands will come alive with the sound of music, movies, car shows, skating, fun games and competitions during September as part of Council’s ‘Bring on Spring’ celebration.

The third annual month-long festival kicks off on Saturday 1 September with ‘Be the Voice’ a youth music showcase on the Great Lawn from 11am to 3pm.

Division 6 Councillor Dawn Crichlow said that every weekend throughout September would be jam-packed with entertainment for the young and the young at heart.

“The weather is warming up so what better way to enjoy the spring than to come along to the beautiful Broadwater Parklands,” said Cr Crichlow.

“This is only the third annual Bring on Spring but the people have told us they love it because it’s about family fun, music concerts, kids’ activities, outdoor movies and more. The line-up is exciting with something for everyone.”

Activities include ‘Be the Voice’ singing competition, skateboarding demonstrations and a roller skate night. For music lovers there is the Gold Coast Acoustic Music Festival and a concert featuring Australia’s Got Talent winner Andrew De Silva.

“The Broadwater Parklands is the perfect spot for this type of festival. You’ve got the water, the pavilion and a vast lawn area for people to relax and enjoy. No wonder the Broadwater Parklands is one of the most popular open spaces for these types of events in South East Queensland,” she said.

“Families can come along, spread a rug on the Great Lawn and enjoy some of the best entertainment around. Best of all, Bring on Spring is free, which means that families can enjoy a treat while they enjoy the activities.”
