Burrows Street revetment wall refurbishment, Biggera Waters

Commencing: September 2017
Completion: March 2018
Total project cost: $750,000

Project information

Remediation works to 300 metres of revetment wall in Biggera Creek, adjacent to Burrows Street are underway.

The revetment wall is nearing the end of its serviceable life and works are required to provide ongoing erosion protection from tidal movements.

Construction details

  • placement of rock armour over the existing revetment wall down into the creek bed
  • reconstruction of the small watercraft access ramp
  • pathway refurbishment.

Benefits to the community

  • continued erosion protection along this section of waterfront
  • improved pathway for pedestrians and cyclists
  • additional seating along pathway
  • upgraded access ramp for handheld watercraft.

We will be working to ensure disruptions are kept to a minimum. However, locals may experience temporary traffic delays and construction noise during normal business hours. Traffic controls will be in place and access to the small craft ramp and walkway will be temporarily closed during works.
