In the lead up to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth GamesTM, the Gold Coast is undergoing an exciting period of transformation.
The City of Gold Coast (City) is embracing transformative projects, with approximately $13 billion in major infrastructure projects, recently completed, planned or underway, that will change the face of our city.
With a population of over half a million people, our city enjoys a five-year average annual growth rate of 2.3 per cent, has access to an economic catchment of 3.6 million people and welcomes close to 12 million visitors each year.
The Gold Coast has grown from an economic base of tourism and construction to a more diverse, knowledge-based economic environment, with an economy valued at $25.2 billion.
As a promoter, coordinator and facilitator of economic development, we are committed to developing a city where industry can prosper; we attract a globally competitive workforce; and are recognised globally for our lifestyle.
Our Economic Development Branch facilitates growth through a range of business and economic development initiatives, outlined in our Economic Development Strategy.
Under our Competitive Business Program, local business can access a range of fully-funded programs aimed at assisting businesses in the city to grow and increase their export capabilities.
We also assist businesses looking to invest, set up a business or relocate to the city, under our International Trade and Investment Program.
