The Gold Coast is undergoing an exciting period of transformation, buoyed by the legacy of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and its forward-thinking investment in city-building infrastructure.

With a population nearing 600,000, our city enjoys a five-year average annual growth rate of nearly 4 per cent, has access to an economic catchment of more than 3.6 million people and welcomes more than 13 million visitors each year.

The Gold Coast has grown from an economic base of tourism and construction to a more diverse, knowledge-based economic environment, with an economy valued at more than $33 billion.

As a promoter, coordinator and facilitator of economic development, we are committed to developing a city where industry can prosper; we attract a globally competitive workforce; and are recognised globally for our lifestyle.

Our Office of Innovation and Economy facilitates growth through a range of business and economic development initiatives, outlined in our Economic Development Strategy.

Under our Competitive Business Program, local business can access a range of fully-funded programs aimed at assisting businesses in the city to grow and increase their export capabilities.

We also assist businesses looking to invest, set up a business or relocate to the city, under our International Trade and Investment Program.
