Stand up paddle and water sports

The best way to discover the city’s beautiful waterways whist also being active is via a stand up paddle board, kayak or water craft. Various prices and activities on offer.

Kids SUP Club

Your little water babies will learn how to be confident on and off the water as well as make new friends and have a great time. Kids will learn how to be confident on and off the water as well as develop the skills required for safe paddling.

Social paddle group

Social paddle groups are a fun way to meet other locals, form relationships, get fit and explore our gorgeous waterways. Just by participating every week you can improve posture, confidence and generally get fit and healthy whilst having fun in the great outdoors.

Women, wetsuits and winter wellness

An awesome surf fitness class combining beach-based yoga, plus beginner surf lesson or intermediate surf skills. Improve strength, flexibility, balance, fitness, focus and confidence and enjoy the ocean and riding the waves (optional free surf after class).

Surfing Mums

Surfing Mums Inc. is a supportive group for mothers who surf. Meet like-minded mums with the potential of sharing childcare on the beach to give you time to surf.

Beginner surfing lessons

Find fantastic waves and warm water while surfing with professional instructors. All equipment is supplied.

Southport Sharks Swimming Club

Competitive and social swimming for adults offered within a friendly, social environment. Children and families are also welcome.

Miami Masters Swimming Club

We are all about fitness, fun and friendship and anyone over the age of 18 is eligible to become a member. A professional and qualified coach sets the swim programmes at each session and provides advice and encouragement as needed.

Gold Coast Water Polo

Gold Coast Water Polo is a social, friendly association who has been facilitating the development and enjoyment of water polo on the Gold Coast for 40 years. We cater for new and experienced players along with juniors.

Underwater hockey

Want to try something new? Experience this new fun-filled sport on the bottom of the pool. Please bring mask, snorkel and fins.

Fun sail

Round the kids up for an adventure out on the water! Kids aged 7 to 16 years will have a blast learning the basics of sailing on a dinghy guided by an experienced instructor. All equipment provided.


Sails is a non-profit charitable organisation engaged with the community through social and educational activities offered on boat and beach adventure days. Discover kayaking, sailing, inflatable powerboats, beach volleyball and sand art. Children with disabilities are welcome

Dragon Boating

Dragon boating is a fun sport suitable for all abilities with a number of clubs on the Gold Coast welcoming new members. Clubs will guide you through the basics of paddling to ensure appropriate technique is developed.
