Labrador Community Hub

Project history

This project started in 2008, when the City purchased the 4682 square metre site with four existing buildings for $2.5 million from the Uniting Church. Soon after, the City undertook an extensive community engagement program which attracted input from 35 community organisations and over 300 community members to help shape the redesign and use of the existing buildings to meet the needs and aspirations of the local community.

The end result is a multi-use site that provides extra recreational, educational and health opportunities for local residents. This site includes a community centre, a child and family centre, a Men's Shed and surrounding parkland with children's play equipment, barbecues and tennis court.
