Late Night Transport
Flatfare taxi service
Queensland Transport and Regent Taxis have partnered to introduce the FlatFare taxi service to Gold Coast City.
The service is now operating from the secure taxi rank on the southern side of Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise, every Friday night from midnight to 5am and every Saturday night from 11pm to 5am.
The FlatFare service reduces waiting times at ranks by grouping passengers travelling in the same direction into maxi-taxis, with prices based on a zonal system. The fares are cheaper than a normal taxi, and are paid at the commencement of the journey.
The service has already been successful in Brisbane and Townsville, and assists in getting passengers home quickly and safely.
Secure taxi ranks
The department of Transport and Main Roads in conjunction with Gold Coast Cabs have partnered to introduce the secure taxi rank service to Gold Coast City.
The Secure Taxi Ranks are staffed by a taxi rank marshal and security guard to assists in getting passengers home quickly and safely.
The secure ranks are open as follows:
Cavill Ave
Friday - midnight to 5am, Saturday 11pm to 5am
opposite Fiddlers Green on left side of Cavill Ave when approaching Surfers Paradise Blvd
Orchid Ave
Friday and Saturday - midnight to 5am
on left of Orchid Ave when heading north
Oasis Precinct
Friday and Saturday - 11pm to 5.30am
Victoria Ave on western end of Oasis Shopping Centre
Coolangatta
Friday and Saturday - 11pm to 4am
on the left side of the esplanade when travelling north outside the Coolangatta Hotel
NightLink bus services
Late night bus services operate from Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach to assist patrons to get home safely after a night out.
The services are funded by Council and operated in partnership with Translink and Surfside Buses.
