The Active and Healthy Program includes activities specifically for people with a disability. Many are free or low cost.

Swimming pools

The City operates eight aquatic centres. Each centre has chair lift access into one pool and some centres include ramp access or beach entry to a pool. Palm Beach and Southport centres have hydrotherapy pools. Concessions are available for eligible pension card holders and carers.

Mobile library

Libraries

City libraries have a range of assistive and adaptive equipment and a special needs collection, which can assist with the development and rehabilitation of people with medical conditions, injury or disability.

Vehicle access to parks for service providers

Organisations that work with people with limited mobility can apply for a permit to drive into our parks, to make access easier. Permits can be obtained for a number of parks with shade, accessible amenities and picnic facilities.
