Various youth and community centres and spaces operate throughout the city.

Be sure to check out the youth activities and holiday programs at Thrower House, Runaway Bay and Upper Coomera.

Thrower House at Salk Oval, Palm Beach also has a heap of great, free activities for young people aged between 12 and 25 years. For enquiries regarding the Thrower House program please phone 07 5581 1622.

Junior Council

City of Gold Coast has the largest Junior Council in Queensland, and possibly Australia.

Applications for student membership open at the beginning of each school year with applications closing mid-February.

Junior Leaders Day

City of Gold Coast’s Junior Leaders Day will be a dynamic day of inspirational guest speakers, interactive learning and information sharing, designed to nurture student leadership skills among young people on the Gold Coast.

The event will be held on Tuesday 11 October 2016 and is an exclusive event for Year 8 students at Gold Coast high schools.
