Animal Control Area Register 2019

The City’s Local Law No 12 (Animal Management) 2013 (the local law) enables Council by resolution to designate the whole or any part of a park, reserve, foreshore or bathing reserve under the control of Council as an animal control area.

As a result of the above local law, dog off-leash areas, animal prohibited areas and animal restricted areas are now known as animal control areas and are listed in the Animal Control Area Register.

In accordance with the local law, Council adopted a process for the approval of future animal control areas. The City now seeks to formally amend the Animal Control Area Register and is asking for the public’s feedback on the proposed new designated areas.

Please read the information in the subheadings below before submitting your feedback on the proposed amendments.
