Managing the spread and impact of pest species is a priority for City of Gold Coast. You can help too.

Council has developed a Draft Gold Coast Pest Management Plan 2013-2017, it is governed by state legislation and sets out the differing classifications of pests, areas of increased biodiversity and the role of stakeholders and community in managing pest plants and animals for the next four years.

The plan classifies declared animal and plant pests into five management categories. The management of each category is prioritised by the ability for stakeholders and community to achieve the categories objective.

The strategy was available for public comment from 8 May to 7 June 2013.
