Dudley Street catchment stormwater drainage upgrade - Stage 1

As part of the City of Gold Coast's commitment to improve flood resilience, works to reduce flooding in the Dudley Street catchment are underway.

Project information

The first phase of this project is complete and included the construction of a new stormwater outlet near Avanti Street, Mermaid Beach. The second phase which is currently underway involves the continuation of the pipeline along Atlantic Avenue.

Construction details

Work is progressing with our drainage improvement works with pipe laying moving progressively towards the eastern end of Atlantic Avenue.

Atlantic Avenue and Avanti Street will remain closed to through traffic as shown on the attached road closure map. These closures are required until the end of October 2018 when the pipe laying and road works are expected to be completed. Crescent Avenue will remain temporarily open during the works.

Traffic control will be in place and site staff will work with you to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.
