Celebrating its 10th year in 2008, the Inside Film Awards celebrate and champion Australian film and creative talent as decided by the general public. These aren't awards based on industry perception alone - they are truly reflective of what the general public thinks about Australian films and performances.
The 2008 event takes place on 13 November 2008 at the Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Always an entertaining, celebrity packed and irreverent night, it is loved for its relaxed attitude and independent spirit. The ceremony will be broadcast live on SBS Television with delayed telecasts also screening on Showtime.

The 2008 Busan International Film Commission and Industry Showcase (BIFCOM) will be held from 3 to 5 October 2008 in South Korea. BIFCOM has been identified as an event which not only profiles Gold Coast City as a premier film location, but an exhibition where film industry representatives can meet and do business with key decision makers from the Asian region.
Gold Coast City Council is proposing to coordinate a mission to BIFCOM and will arrange a trade booth at the BIFCOM Film industry showcase. Gold Coast City companies are invited to participate on this trade stand and collaborate on an AV presentation and marketing collateral to collectively showcase the capabilities on offer from the Gold Coast.
Council is also presently scoping the hosting of a function during the BIFCOM showcase to invite key decisions makers along to promote the ability and capacity of Gold Coast City's film and television production segment.

StudyGoldCoast has partnered with Mission Australia Nerang to provide an employment service available to international students. Jobs4Students (J4S) is a fee for service opportunity for international students to obtain paid or unpaid employment whilst studying on the Gold Coast. J4S will offer job placements and internships as well as cater for working holiday maker visa holders.
International internships and industry placements are not paid at graduate levels but at the award rates for fulltime or part-time employees. Placements range from eight weeks to six months depending on their visas.
