The Local Studies Library The Local Studies Library

The Gold Coast City Council Local Studies Library has all kinds of information about the Gold Coast, including information on the history, culture, environment, and development of the region.

The Picture Gold Coast collection includes thousands of wonderful photographs.

Picture Australia, a service hosted by the National Library, provides a single access point to many digitised images from Australian organisations. Look for images of the Gold Coast held by the Local Studies Library and other organisations at www.pictureaustralia.org

The Local Studies Library is located on the first floor of the Southport Branch Library, corner of Garden and Lawson Streets, Southport. Visitors are most welcome during the opening hours of Monday - Friday 10.00am - 5.00pm and Saturday 10.00am - 12.00 noon.
