Not all areas of Gold Coast City are associated with an LAP. If your area or suburb is not featured in any of the Local Area Plans, check the maps adjacent to see if the area is covered in a nearby or adjoining LAP. About Local Area Plans

Parts of Gold Coast City are divided into special planning units with unique characteristics for the purposes of land use and development control.

The term Local Area Plan (LAP) is introduced to identify those areas with a particular local identity, natural resource base or development. A full description of LAPs is provided in Part 6 - Local Area Plans of the Gold Coast Planning Scheme.
