Statutory Matters

The Gold Coast Planning Scheme 2003 was developed by Council in accordance with the external link Integrated Planning Act (IPA) 1997. The Planning Scheme and all associated amendments have been approved by the State Government.

For more information about the relationship between the Gold Coast Planning Scheme 2003 and the IPA 1997, please refer to Part 1 – Introduction.

Note: In accordance with the Queensland Government local government boundary reforms, the area north of the Albert River was transferred from Gold Coast City Council to Logan City Council on 15 March 2008. In accordance with the requirements of the Integrated Planning Act 1997, Logan City Council now administers all development and land use planning within the transferred area.

Until such time that Logan City Council amends their planning scheme to incorporate the transferred area, the content of the Gold Coast Planning Scheme 2003, as it applies to this land, will continue to apply. Accordingly, Version 1.2 of the Gold Coast Planning Scheme 2003 continues to contain the relevant statutory planning information for the transferred area, including but not limited to the Beenleigh and Eagleby Local Area Plans. All enquiries regarding planning and development within the transferred area should be made to Logan City Council.
