Meet an author at City Libraries

There are lots of opportunities to meet a visiting author at our libraries up and down the Gold Coast. Join us to meet one of the following authors at our free events coming soon:

  • Isobelle Carmody: Australia's Favourite Author 2016* - Thursday 27 October at Robina Library.
    Join one of the world’s most highly acclaimed writers of fantasy and young adult fiction for an entrancing evening. Isobelle will share the tale of her quest to finish the bestselling Obernewtyn Chronicles and introduce her new graphic novel, Evermore, (illustrated by Dan Reed).   • Katherine Johnson: The Better Son - Friday 18 November at Elanora Library.
    When author, Katherine Johnson, moved from Brisbane to Tasmania, she found a whole new landscape of inspiration. Her newly published second novel ‘The Better Son’ – a multiple Tasmanian Literary Award winner - is a thriller set against the backdrop of northern Tasmania’s vast caves.
  • Mem Fox and Judy Horacek: Ducks Away! - Thursday 24 November at Helensvale Library.
    Best-loved children’s picture book author, Mem Fox, and illustrator, Judy Horacek, join us at Helensvale Library to launch their brand new book, Ducks Away! It will be an essential stocking filler for kids across Australia this Christmas.


Wanted: STEAM creatives

Do you have a passion or growing interest in STEAM activities? STEAM encompasses aspects of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. We are looking for expressions of interest from individuals or groups to join others in a regular group to share or expand your STEAM interest.
