Library catalogue tips

Read below for information and frequently asked questions about our library catalogue features. 

How do I receive SMS notifications for library holds?

As we have changed SMS service providers you will need to re opt-in to access this service. To do this:

  • Sign in to your library account (your name will appear in the top right hand corner)
  • Click on your name
  • Select the Edit account button (you will see the Modify My Information heading)
  • Enter the mobile phone number you wish to receive holds notifications to
  • Select the Opt In checkbox under the Mobile Alerts via SMS heading
  • Click Submit to save these changes.

You will receive a text message indicating that you have successfully opted in to receive holds notifications.

How do I sign in to my library account?

To sign into your library account to access your account information and additional account features:

  • Click on the Login link at the top right hand corner of the screen.
  • You will be prompted to enter your full library card number as the User ID, and your four digit PIN. You will be able to see that you have successfully signed on as your name will now appear at the top of the screen.
  • To access your account, click on the link to your name.

Here you will be able to view some of your personal details, as well as information about your current checkouts and holds on your library record.

How do I create a list in the library catalogue?

Once logged in to the library catalogue, you are able to create lists of items, which will be saved to your library account for you to access later.

While browsing through your search results, if you see an item you want to save to a list, select the Add to cart symbol in the Additional actions area. This will store these items in a cart for you to action later. 

Once you have finished adding the items you want, click on the My Cart link at the top of the screen. This will display all the items currently in your cart. Click on the Save to list button. You will be prompted to give your list a name, and select the Create button. You can have lots of lists at a time, and select which list you want to add your items to.

To view your list, click on the link to your name to view your library account, and click on the My Lists tab. You can then click on the link to the list you want to view. 

How do I see my reading history?

The library catalogue has the functionality to allow you to view and record your borrowing history. To opt-in to this feature, you will need to go to the library catalogue and click on the Login link at the top right hand corner of the screen. You will then need to sign in with your library card number, and four digit PIN. Click on the link to your name to access your library account.

From here, click on the link to the Reading History tab. You will need to click on the Save Reading History button to opt in and enable this feature. From this point onwards, information for any items borrowed on your membership will be recorded here in this tab.
