Writers' Block workshops

Our Writers' Block program offers free workshops and seminars during the year to help you develop your creative writing skills by:

  • nurturing your skills through expert advice from recognised writers
  • strengthening your techniques through practical exercises
  • building your networks through working alongside other writers
  • helping you to grapple with the business of being a writer.

Next workshop:
Prepare for traditional publishing with Kristina Schulz

Sat 30 May 2020
10.30am to 1.30pm

Learn how to navigate the complex world of publishing so you can submit your manuscript with confidence.

So, you’ve typed the last word in your manuscript. Well done! But what now? How do you know when your manuscript is ready for publication or submission? How do you pick a publisher or agent to approach? How do you know what to do when you have never done any of this before?

If you have a project you think is ready to be published, or if you plan to traditionally publish your current work-in-progress, this seminar will walk you through the process of getting there. With over 20 years of industry experience working as an editor and publisher in Australia and overseas, Kristina Schulz will offer you professional advice, guidance, and personal stories to help navigate the complex world of publishing.

Request to book a place now. Places are strictly limited so advance booking is essential.

This free event will be live streamed via the Queensland Writers Centre website.
