Major sporting event venues

The Gold Coast's major sporting venues cater for a myriad of activities from grassroots through to elite. They are key venues for community sporting clubs, corporate functions and major events, including the recent Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™.

Major sporting venues

Gold Coast Sports Precinct

Currently under redevelopment, the Gold Coast Sports Precinct holds multiple sporting fields suitable for elite and community use as well as secure car parks and amenities.


Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium

The Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium's flexible design means it is regularly used for sporting activities ranging from soccer and basketball through to figure skating.


Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre

This new multi-purpose community facility has two indoor halls connected by a pedestrian plaza. The centre supports a large range of sport and community facilities including function rooms, change rooms and administrative facilities.


Coomera Indoor Sports Centre

The Coomera Indoor Sports Centre is a new multi-purpose facility that accommodates a range of elite and community indoor sports such as netball, volleyball, futsal, gymnastics and basketball.


Gold Coast Cycle Centre

The Gold Coast Cycle Centre was the start and finish location for the mountain bike events during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™.


Runaway Bay Indoor Stadium

The Runaway Bay Indoor Stadium is a multipurpose facility catering for a range of activities from soccer and basketball through to roller derby, exhibitions and tradeshows.


Aquatic centres

City of Gold Coast operates eight aquatic centres across the city. The centres vary in size and facilities but combined they offer the community a large range of aquatic activities from toddler swimming lessons to squad training for the elite athlete.


Outdoor sporting venues
