Best-selling Australian author, Di Morrissey, has joined the list of celebrated writers rendezvousing with readers at Gold Coast Council libraries.
Ms Morrissey's 16 consecutive best-selling novels have gathered legions of devotees around the globe and with her latest offering, The Silent Country, hot off the press, Community and Cultural Development Committee Chair, Cr Bob La Castra said there was no doubt there would be a full house for her appearance at the Broadbeach Library.
"Ms Morrissey's appearances almost always are ticketed events so it's quite a coup for our Library Service to have enticed her to attend a Readers Rendezvous, giving her local fans the opportunity to meet her and listen to her speak at no charge."
Ms Morrissey trained as a journalist with Australian Consolidated Press and at one time was the women's editor for The Daily Mail Group in London.
She also worked as a creative copywriter for Ogilvy and Mather Advertising, had her own CBS television program in the US, was a regular presenter on Network 10 Australia, was a radio broadcaster and has written for television, film and theatre. Her first novel, Heart of the Dreaming, was published in 1991.
Ms Morrissey will be the celebrity guest at the Readers' Rendezvous at Broadbeach Branch Library at 7.30pm on Wednesday 11 November.
Please phone the Broadbeach Library on (07) 5581 1555 to reserve a place.
