Gold Coast Local Heritage Register

The Gold Coast Local Heritage Register is a statutory list of places assessed as having local heritage significance under the provision of Part 11 of the Queensland Heritage Act 1992. The Register includes buildings, archaeological sites, gardens, graves and landscapes.

Development on a local heritage place is regulated by the relevant provisions of the Queensland Heritage Act 1992, the Queensland Heritage Regulation 2015 and other relevant planning legislation. The relevant provisions of City Plan also apply, particularly section 8.2.9 Heritage overlay code.

For further information on the Gold Coast Local Heritage Register, properties listed in the Register or future proposals, call our Heritage Team on 07 5582 8875.

Queensland Heritage Register

Some places entered in the Gold Coast Local Heritage Register are also entered in the Queensland Heritage Register.

Development on a Queensland Heritage Place, which is not covered by the General Exemption Certificate for Queensland Heritage Places, must be approved by the State Government.
