Lodging a search request

The following options are available for lodging search requests:

Online (Business Partner account holders)

If you have a Business Partner account with us you can lodge your search request online using the link below for the following search types:

  • Rates and water searches
  • Building searches
  • Planning & development certificates
  • Health searches
  • Trade waste compliance searches
  • Plans and map searches
  • Sewer and infrastructure drawings.

Email

Send your completed form to mail@goldcoast.qld.gov.au.

Council will return a credit card application to you by email. You must follow the instructions and forward your payment through our secure online service before your search request will be processed. Alternatively, credit card payments can be made in person at any City customer service centre.

If you wish to post the form, please attach your cheque, money order or bank draft (in Australian currency) made payable to ‘City of Gold Coast’ and address it to:

Fees

Fees are payable for all search requests. Please see our Register of fees and charges for details of the fees and conditions for each of the different search requests. This information is also available in the hard copy forms below.

Delivery of search results

Search results are emailed upon completion, normally within 10 working days of the application being received by us (except for the Full Town Planning Certificate, which can take up to 40 working days).

Access details

Access details must be provided for certain types of searches to enable City officers to make suitable arrangements for inspections of the premise/property involved. Access details should include name and telephone number for the occupier or agent holding the key to the premises. They could also include the business/shop name and premises type.

Please note: absence of information will result in delays and re-inspection fees.

Searches requiring access details include:

  • Town Planning Certificate - Full Certificate
  • Health search
  • Building search - Building Compliance inspection and report
  • Trade waste compliance.

Cancellations

Cancellation fees may vary depending on the progress of a requested search. All requests for cancellations must be submitted in writing and emailed to search@goldcoast.qld.gov.au.
