Post development approval and appeals

After your planning application is approved, there may be other approvals required before you can start your project.

These may include operational works, building approval, plan sealing and erosion and sediment control. Details of additional approvals required should be contained with the conditions of approval attached to the decision notice. It’s important to understand that penalties apply for unauthorised work and you may need to pay the Portable Long Service Levy for any building and construction work.

After development approval is received, if you’re satisfied with the decision, your next steps may include:

If you’re not satisfied with the decision or would like to make changes, you may wish to:

  • seek further clarification from a town planner by contacting the Planning Enquiries Centre on 07 5582 8708
  • make change representations if during the applicant’s appeal period, or make a change application if all appeal periods have ended
  • lodge an appeal.
