Project information

Works are underway to improve road safety on Surf Parade between Australia Avenue and First Avenue, Broadbeach.

Construction details

  • road resurfacing
  • new pedestrian ramps and wider footpath connections
  • realignment of kerb and channel and repositioning of the existing pedestrian crossing on Surf Parade intersection Britannia Avenue
  • street lighting upgrades.

Benefits to the local community

  • improved pedestrian safety
  • pathways compliant with Disability Discrimination Act 1992
  • works will support spectators walking and cycling to venues during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, providing a legacy benefit for the community.
