Stanmore Road, Yatala Upgrade Stage 5

Peachey Road to Enkleman Road

Commencing: November 2017
Completion: June 2019
Cost: $13.6 million

Project information

This project is the next stage of the multi-million dollar upgrade of Stanmore Road, Yatala between the M1 Pacific Motorway and Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road in response to traffic growth in the Yatala Enterprise Area and the Southwest Corridor. This stage will complete the four-lane duplication of Stanmore Road as far west as Harts Road. The intersection of Stanmore Road and Enkleman Road will be upgraded and new pedestrian and cycle paths will be provided between Enkleman Road and Peachey Road.

Project objective

The Yatala Enterprise Area is a major industrial employment (manufacturing, logistics and freight distribution) growth area and designated as an Identified Growth Area in the South East Queensland Regional Plan 2009. The Stanmore Road upgrade will support productivity and growth in the Yatala Enterprise Area and accommodate the expected growth in background traffic due to the proposed master planned communities in the Southwest Corridor, such as Yarrabilba.

The project makes a significant contribution to the achievement of the wider objectives of the City’s Transport Strategy 2031 and Road Safety Plan.
