Dog registration
Registration of your dog is compulsory for dogs aged three months and over. If you do not register your dog, you may be liable to be issued a $200 on the spot fine.
Dog registrations are designed to promote responsible dog ownership. You will receive reduced fees for:
- desexed dogs
- being a current financial member of the Queensland Canine Control Council
- concessional rates also apply to pensioners

To be completed for all new applications to register a dog. All dogs in the City must be registered. Council bylaws regarding dogs state it is illegal to keep unregistered dogs and significant penalties apply.
Animal Desexing Staturory Declaration (PDF 33kb)
This Statutory Declaration to be completed in the absence of a sterilisation certificate issued from a vet.
Dog Registration Change of Address(PDF 50kb)
To be completed if the dog registration tag is broken or lost. Upon payment of the relevant fee a replacement tag can be issued.
Dog Registration Change of Ownership (PDF 50kb)
To be completed when the ownership of the dog changes. Signatures of previous and new owners is required.

To be completed to enable the Transfer of current dog registration on a dog that is now deceased or a dog that is no longer in owners possession, to a newly acquired dog.

Application to Keep More Than the Allowable Number of Animals (PDF 44kb)
Complete if you wish to apply for more than the allowable animals Gold Coast City Council Local Law No. 12 (Keeping and Control of Animals) allows a maximum of one dog to be kept on a property less than 600 square metres in area.
