Miami to Burleigh Foreshore Master Plan

Gold Coast City Council is extensively upgrading five coastal parks between Miami and Burleigh over the next two years. Popular family parks include Justin's, Rotary, Ed Hardy, Reg Chesters and John Laws parks, located along the Esplanade at Burleigh Heads. Improvement works include turf rejuvenation and irrigation works, tree planting and new or upgraded parkland infrastructure, toilet facilities and pathways.

What has been completed so far?

At Justin's Park, upgrades to irrigation and turf have been completed and a range of picnic tables and park furniture have been installed. A new playground and new public toilet facillities have also been completed at Reg Chester's Park, along with some pathway upgrades. Tree planting throughout the Burleigh foreshore parks has been undertaken to provide long term amenity and succession planting, as many of the existing trees will eventually come to the end of their lifespan.

2009 Upgrade schedule

Works to construct an Irrigation tank are near to completion in the northern section of Justin's park, with Turf upgrades to follow.

Scheduled upgrades for the Miami Burleigh foreshore 2009
April to October Minor path upgrades to provide equitable access and improve pathway quality
June to November Upgrade to furniture in Ed Hardy Park
July to December Reg Chesters Park, Rotary Park, northern section of Justin's Park furniture and shelter upgrades

Council aims to minimise disruption to the community by staging works, working from from North to South from Ed Hardy park, through to Rotary Park. For more information phone Council on (07) 5667 3668

We look forward to delivering residents a wonderful, new coastal parkland.
