Gold Coast City Council has developed a housing strategy, which will help to ensure that our community is appropriately housed in the future.
Council recently completed a Housing Needs Assessment (HNA) to meet its requirements under State Planning Policy (Housing and Residential Development) and the Local Growth Management Strategy.

Young people would like to participate in more social activities such as going clubbing, going to concerts, and sporting activities with outside clubs.
A Study of Gold Coast City Skate Parks and their Users
The research described in the following report addresses several questions:
- What is the extent and nature of skate park usage in Gold Coast City?
- Why do people use (or not use) these parks?
- What changes can be made to improve and broaden park usage?
- How can parks be made more accessible, appealing and inclusive?
- What social and psychological consequences are associated with youth spending their leisure time engaged in skate boarding and using skate parks?
South Coast Youth Activity Project 2004 - Youth Activity Scan
The South Coast Youth Project evolved from a desire of students from Elanora State High School to improve the quality of weekend entertainment, transport and appropriate social activities for young people on the Southern end of the Gold Coast.

It is estimated that 76,764 people in Gold Coast City have a disability and 67,147 have specific restrictions.

Demand on Social Infrastructure
This report is based on a survey of 640 government and non government services delivering social support in Gold Coast City (such as health, welfare, housing, disability support, and services for young people, children and parents). The purpose of the survey was to identify how social services are coping with demand, their need for office space, staffing needs, transport access, and disability access. The report also includes themed maps showing these needs across the city.
