Tallebudgera Creek Road Bridge No. 2

When ex-tropical Cyclone Debbie passed over the Gold Coast in March 2017 we sustained damage to over 100 pieces of infrastructure including the Tallebudgera Creek Road Bridge No. 2.

Tallebudgera Creek rose by over 4.5 metres causing significant damage to the bridge. A number of the bridge components were completely unsupported as a result of the floods and it was at risk of collapsing.

Temporary solution

Our crews worked quickly to complete a temporary repair and reinstate access for local residents.

The bridge is now closed and a temporary causeway has been built next to the bridge, and is open to all traffic. A reduced speed limit is in place.

Long term solution

Work is underway to investigate the best option to reinstate permanent traffic access. Preliminary design is underway and ecological studies are being conducted.

Please be assured every effort is being made to fast track the works. Thank you for your patience.
