Arts and culture
The Gold Coast's arts and creative community are leading a cultural revolution on the coast. The city is being re-imagined - our culture is energetic, unexpected and distinctly Gold Coast.
Arts and cultural development will help deliver the ambitious vision from the City of Gold Coast's (City) first Culture Strategy by 2023 ensuring the city is alive with cultural offerings in time for the 2018 Commonwealth Games™ and the delivery of the $365 million cultural precinct.
A new strategic direction has already seen a fresh focus in several areas, including increased arts funding, elevating and celebrating our rich indigenous heritage, contemporary music and mentoring local talent in non-traditional and innovative art forms.
We will support our local artists and cultural community through new initiatives and ensure they have the opportunities they need to thrive.
The 2014-15 RADF program heralds the beginning of a more flexible and innovative approach to supporting Arts and Culture on the Gold Coast.
