The centrally located Parklands not only offers magnificent views and wide open spaces for community events, there are also a number of more intimate locations such as the Pier and the Rooftop featuring the spectacular backdrop of the Surfers Paradise skyline.

The park offers a wide variety of recreational options including picnics and barbecues, strolling on the rooftop terrace to take in the spectacular views of Surfers Paradise, fishing off the pier, swimming, and lunchtime sports on the Great Lawn.
Kids will love splashing around in the popular, fun-filled Rockpools - a great way to cool down on a summer day.
The southern reclamation area is now 2.8 hectares of useable open space – four touch football fields end to end. Located on Marine Parade, Southport, the three kilometre stretch of parklands along the foreshore is an ideal destination for all to enjoy.
This is an exciting, new, sculptural water playground. The water play area is designed with cool water fountains and vibrant marine-themed equipment. It includes a creek bed and several tidal rockpools for children to splash, dam and explore.
The Rockpools are manned by lifeguards during opening hours and are completely free.

Wireless internet is available at the Broadwater Parklands seven days a week. Wireless will be available from April to November between 7am and 7pm and from December to March between 7am and 9pm.
Sessions are 30 minutes in length or 50 megabytes (mb), with a 15 minute cool off period. Coverage areas include The Little Lawn, The Great Lawn, the main car park and the Rockpools.
