Important information

The Gold Coast is about to host the 2018 Commonwealth Games and this is the chance for all residents to be a part of this exciting event. This once in a lifetime opportunity will see 11 days of world class competition, from 4 to 15 April 2018, on our doorstep. Support from our community is essential in making this a successful international event.

  • The centre is closed for bookings from 22 January 2018 to 17 July 2018.
  • Event bookings for 2018 are now closed. Bookings for 2019 and 2020 are now open.
  • Court bookings are closed until 17 July 2018.
Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium


Originally opened in 1989 by the Gold Coast Cougars, later to be rebranded as the Gold Coast Rollers, the Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium has since been home for a large range of community sporting organisations and major events.

Refurbishment of this multi-purpose indoor venue will commence in January 2017 and extend community usage of this facility for the next 20 years and beyond. The project will deliver upgraded spectator seating, technology upgrades, new internal and external cladding, and a new roof.

Casual court use from 17 July 2018

Single court hire and casual shoot-around sessions will depend on availability, we highly recommend phoning ahead to check available times.

Casual shoot-arounds (walk in) sessions are available for basketball only (one hoop). This does not guarantee sole use of the court.

Exclusive use of a single court requires a booking to made and includes; basketball, netball and futsal.

Lost property

Major Sporting Venues is not responsible for personal property left at the venues.

Due to the high volume of sporting activity and events in our venues, we are unable to store lost items. Where possible items will be returned to the sporting club or event organiser.
