Celebrate Gold Coast

Celebrate Gold Coast is a free event for the community to celebrate everything that is quintessentially Gold Coast - our culture, lifestyle, food and sense of fun.

Celebrate Gold Coast

Date: 28 October 2017
Time: 11am with basketball tipping off at 4:30pm
Location: Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, 296 Nerang Broadbeach Road, Carrara.

Celebrate Gold Coast highlights what makes our city one of the greatest places to live in the world.

Whether it is our envious beach culture, the luxurious green behind the gold, or the Gold Coast's distinctive village and cultural lifestyle, Celebrate Gold Coast showcases the unique attributes of the city.

In 2017, Celebrate Gold Coast will turn its focus to the city's sporting achievements in the lead up to the 2018 Commonwealth Games and will showcase why the Gold Coast is evolving as a leading sporting and active lifestyle destination.

The event will be hosted at the newly developed Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre at Carrara on 28 October 2017 from 11am.

The day will feature different interactive sporting events, an array of active and healthy activities, meet and greets with local sporting celebrities, a line-up of food trucks and plenty of features to wear the kids out!

Before the day is over, the National Basketball League returns to the Gold Coast with an official game of the 2017-18 season – a sneak peek into what the Commonwealth Games will offer.

Game On Gold Coast

Celebrate Gold Coast is part of the Game On initiative.

Game On encourages the Gold Coast community to embrace the excitement and enthusiasm of the Commonwealth Games through a series of events which actively encourage residents to get involved in sports and participate in regular physical activity.

Get involved

Celebrate Gold Coast is set to give youngsters an insight into being a Commonwealth Games competitor.

In support of the Game On initiative, this event will showcase a huge variety of sporting, recreation and fitness activities.

Local, state and national sporting organisations are encouraged to sign up to be part of this special day and showcase their passion for active and healthy lifestyles.

It is an opportunity for sporting clubs and organisations to showcase their sport to a larger audience and to run activations designed to connect residents with local regular participation pathways available in the city.
