Located in the centre of the city, these parklands are a beautiful location for a stroll, picnic, swim or jog. Situated behind the Council Chambers and HOTA, (formerly the Arts Centre Gold Coast), the parklands offer amazing views over the Nerang River. The Surfers Paradise skyline is your backdrop, making a beautiful photographic opportunity.

Evandale Parklands is also home to a swimming lagoon, popular with nippers training and recreational swims. The lagoon offers a sheltered swimming environment. The surrounding amenities include toilets and showers perfect for that after swim refresh.

Temporary closure of swimming lagoon and playground, 10 to 22 December 2018

Due to the expected impacts from noise and vibration, and the discomfort they may cause lake and playground users, the swimming lagoon and playground will close 10-22 December 2018 while initial works on the Green Bridge project are completed.

For more information, visit the Green Bridge project page.

Download and view a map of the park. (PDF 562kb)

For more details and maps of the dog off leash and prohibited areas, refer to the relevant park map in Bundall on our Central suburbs - Off-leash dog exercise areas and prohibited areas page.

Dogs must be walked on a leash in all other areas.

You can also download the GC Dog parks app, which is available for both iPhone and Andriod devices, providing information about dog parks on the Gold Coast, including the on-leash, off leash and prohibited areas.

There are ample picnic areas with barbeques and shaded seating in the parklands, as well as a sanded volleyball court. Parties, get togethers and even wedding ceremonies are popular in this scenic park.

The kids playground is a great one - two separate slides and climbing spaces, all with sand underfoot and shade sails for those hot days. The playground is also fully fenced, great for the littlies.

If exercise is what you are after, the lagoon offers a 677-metre loop. There are free exercise equipment stations located around the loop, perfect for strength training.

If you haven't been to the Parklands for years, check it out - it has lost none of its majestic charm, and is a reminder of the tranquillity of Gold Coast parks bordering the beautiful Nerang River.
