Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre

Important information

Due to activities related to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games the centre will be closed for bookings and café services from 22 January to 3 June 2018.

Please also note:

  • Event bookings for 2018 are closed. Bookings for 2019 and 2020 are now open.
  • Function room bookings open from June 2018, room hire will depend on availability.

Location

This multi-purpose community facility opened in early 2017 and comprises two indoor halls connected by a pedestrian plaza. It supports a large range of sport and community facilities including function rooms, change rooms and administrative facilities. The mixed-use sports courts are designed to accommodate court sports including basketball, netball, indoor soccer, badminton and more.

The Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre provides world-class competition and training facilities capable of hosting international sporting events such as the badminton, weightlifting and wrestling competitions during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™.

The show hall also has the ability to be transformed for major sporting events, corporate banquets, exhibitions and trade shows.

Court specifications

Hall one comprises of seven sports courts which can be transformed into the show hall to include one show court and grandstand seating for up to 5300 people. The show hall will be one of Gold Coast’s most versatile arenas, being used for a variety of special events.

Hall two includes eight sports courts with 350 spectator seats available upstairs.

Catering

This facility is fully licensed with a commercial kitchen, tailored food and beverage packages are available.

Casual court use from 3 June 2018

Single court hire and casual shoot-around sessions will depend on availability, we highly recommend phoning ahead to check available times.

Casual shoot-arounds (walk in) sessions are available for basketball only (one hoop). This does not guarantee sole use of the court.

Exclusive use of a single court requires a booking to made and includes; basketball, netball, futsal and volleyball.

Lost property

Major Sporting Venues is not responsible for personal property left at the venues.

Due to the high volume of sporting activity and events in our venues, we are unable to store lost items. Where possible items will be returned to the sporting club or event organiser.
