Every year, the Gold Coast hosts numerous international, national and regional sporting events catering for all levels and abilities and delighting millions sports fans the world over. Some of the headline international sporting events supported by the City are listed below.

Magic Millions Carnival
Gold Coast Turf Club | 4-15 January 2019
An intensive week of racehorse sales, attracting the who’s who of the racing industry to the Gold Coast Turf Club. The social highlight is the Magic Millions Raceday, which features the richest race in Queensland. A classic Gold Coast summer event, tailor made for buyers, punters and fashionistas.
Gold Coast Triathlon

The 2018 Gold Coast Triathlon – Luke Harrop Memorial includes a packed entertainment schedule for the whole
family to enjoy, with the best place for viewing the action from Mitchell Park where you will see the athletes transition
from each leg and as it is a multi-lap course you will see them on each lap of the cycle and run.
Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast
Snapper Rocks | 3–13 April 2019
Witness world-class surfing on world-class waves at world famous Snapper Rocks, the leading right hand point
break in the southern hemisphere. The first stop on the World Surf League Championship Tour, this event sees the
world’s top 34 males and top 18 females battle it out in a spectator sport not to be missed.
2019 Sport Accord Convention
Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre | 5–10 May 2019
The Sport Accord Convention is the world’s premier annual conference dedicated to the service of sport. It
is focused on driving positive change and connects 1500 delegates from around the world from international sports
federations, rights holders, organising committees, cities, media, businesses and other organisations involved in
the development of sport.
Gold Coast Marathon
Southport Broadwater Parklands | 6-7 July 2019
Australia’s premier road race attracts more than 27,000 participants of all ages and abilities. The scenic course is considered one of the flattest and fastest courses in the world and the time of year usually boasts excellent weather conditions for running.

Surfers Paradise | October 2019
Known as the Gold Coast’s biggest party, the Gold Coast 600 sees the Supercar Championship drivers battle
through one of the world’s toughest street circuits to claim the ultimate endurance racing title. If the day
time action isn’t enough for you, the entertainment continues into the evenings.
Australian PGA Championship
RACV Royal Pines | 29 November – 2 December 2018
Australia’s most energetic golf tournament, the Australian PGA Championship is back at RACV Royal Pines Resort. Featuring Masters Champion’s Sergio Garcia and Adam Scott in the past, the event will feature a stellar list of Australian and international players who will compete for the Joe Kirkwood Cup. The tournament hosts an array of entertainment on and off the course with fans celebrating in the sun with great food, music and entertainment – this one is a real festival of golf!
Summer of Cricket
Carrara | 22 December 2018 | 1 January 2019 | 5 January 2019
Metricon Stadium, the home of the Gold Coast Suns, will host its first international cricket match this summer, followed by three Big Bash League matches: 22 December: Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes; 1 January: Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers; and 5 January: Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Thunder.
