About the 2017 event

Presented by Mercedes-Benz Gold Coast, the Mayor's Christmas Carols 2017 was headlined by singing superstars Christine Anu, Emma Pask and Prinnie Stevens.

The night also featured a bunch of local talent including The Paradise Kids Choir featuring Luke Harrison, Petrina Zaphir, The Lamplights, Swing Central and Candice Dianna.

The free event, which was hosted by Mercedes-Benz Gold Coast Ambassador Shelley Craft, also boasted a bunch of food trucks, a special Smurfs Christmas show for the little ones, and of course an appearance by Santa Claus himself.

Thanks to all those who attended and made the night a success. See you in 2018!

  • Is the event free?

    Yes. Kids fun and the stage performances are absolutely free. Just bring a blanket, some chairs and/or cushions and take a seat on the lawn to enjoy the entertainment.  

  • What’s not free?

    There will be a bunch of food vendors serving delicious snacks and drinks that can be purchased on the night. Also, for a gold coin donation, you can purchase a program with all money supporting Paradise Kids.

    Christmas novelty products will be available for purchase from Paradise Kids and Starlight Foundation. 

  • What will I see at the event?

    The night will be headlined by singing superstars Christine Anu, Emma Pask and Prinnie Stevens, along with a handful of Gold Coast talent. Support acts include: the Paradise Kids Choir featuring Luke Harrison, Petrina Zaphir, Candice Dianna, The Lamplights and Swing Central.

    The night will also boast a bunch of delicious food vendors, a special Smurfs Christmas show for the little ones, and of course an appearance by Santa Claus himself.  

  • What should I wear?

    Feel free to show your festive spirit and wear a Christmas themed outfit, or just wear something comfortable. 

  • What time is the event?

    Kids fun starts at 2pm with the main show starting at 5pm. A spectacular fireworks display will light up the night sky at the end of the event at 9pm. 

  • Where can I park?

    Limited parking available on site at Broadwater Parklands. Free parking is available from 3pm at the following surrounding carparks: 

    • Carey Park Carpark - Marine Parade
    • Athol Paterson Carpark - Suter Street
    • Mal Burke Carpark - Hicks Street
    • Cloyne Road Carpark - Cloyne Road

    Australia Fair Carpark (Marine Parade) will have three hours free parking then paid parking for a $6 flat rate (exit before midnight) for patrons attending the event.

  • What public transport will get me there?

    Catch the G:Link to the Broadwater Parklands or jump on a bus and travel to and from the venue. Check out www.translink.com.au to plan your journey.  

  • Can I bring alcohol?

    No.

  • Can I bring my pet?

    We don’t encourage pet attendance at our events. 

  • What if it rains?

    If the event is cancelled due to wet weather or for any other reason, we will update the Facebook event page, or listen to 102.9 Hot Tomato for updates. 

  • What food will be available?

    There will be a huge line up of the Gold Coast’s favourite food trucks.
