Monster Machinery Day is over for another year. Details about the 2019 event will be announced in due course.

2018 event

This year more than 50 City vehicles were on display including excavators, graders, loaders, tip trucks, road sweepers, beach tractors, quad bikes and so much more. Everyone’s favourite Disney-Pixar’s Cars heroes, Mack and Lightning McQueen, featured at the event and were hugely popular.

  • Is this event free?

    Yes. 

  • Are there free activities?

    Yes, of course!

    Families can check out everything that digs, scoops, cleans and beeps at the 15th annual Monster Machinery Day.

    You can will find more than 50 City vehicles on display, including excavators, graders, loaders, tip trucks, road sweepers, beach tractors, quad bikes and more. There’s also free rides and live machinery demonstrations.

    This year, you can even get up close and personal with everyone’s favourite onscreen racing team and meet Disney-Pixar’s Cars heroes, Mack and Lightning McQueen, at their very own Cars Pit Stop.

  • What about parking?

    Free parking is available at Carey carpark, opposite Australia Fair. 

  • What public transport will get me there?

    Catch the G:link to Broadwater Parklands. You can also make your journey active and walk, ride, scoot or skate to the event.
  • Can I bring alcohol?

    No. 

  • Can I buy alcohol there?

    No. 

  • Can I bring my pet?

    We don’t encourage pet attendance at our events.
  • What if it rains?

    If the event is cancelled due to wet weather or any other reason, we will update the event page on the City of Gold Coast website and the Facebook page.
  • What time is the event?

    9am to 2pm.

  • What food will be available?

    After working up an appetite, families can grab a bite to eat from any of the food trucks on offer.
  • Can I bring my own food?

    Yes, of course!
