Installation of traffic signals at Days Road and Old Coach Road Upper Coomera

Road worker laying out witches hats for traffic control

Commencing: January 2019
Completion: August 2019
Total project cost: $6.3 million

Project information

We are upgrading the intersection at Days Road and Old Coach Road Upper Coomera from a roundabout to a set of traffic signals.

These improvements will reduce the risk to pedestrians, particularly school children, crossing the various roads around the intersection. The improvements will also improve traffic flow through the intersection at peak hours by providing additional lanes on the approaches to the intersection.

Construction details

Temporary traffic diversions will be in place between January 2019 and August 2019, with some restrictions to through traffic. Please follow the directions of the traffic controllers and signage. It is advised that you plan for an alternative route during this time to reduce delays.

Construction works will mainly occur during standard business hours, and outside of peak periods to minimise disruptions (where possible). However, we'll need to do some night works when traffic volumes are lower. Night works are proposed for approximately ten nights between Sunday 19 May and Friday 28 June 2019 between 6pm and 6am. Night works are planned from Monday 17 to Friday 21 June 2019  (weather dependant). We apologise for any inconvenience.

Benefits for the community

  • Improved road safety for vehicles approaching the intersection at Days Road and Old Coach Road
  • upgraded pathway and crossing points, improving safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
