Generate GC supports Gold Coast artists to generate art and ideas within community and place.
Generate GC is a City of Gold Coast initiative delivered by the Arts and Culture Unit. The Program supports the development of Gold Coast artists working in any artform, who are seeking to develop creative skills through the generation of ideas within community and place.
Artists join a cohort of local creatives, participate in two intensive labs, connect with established artists on the Gold Coast, and get support to extend their artistic practice. The intensive labs feature presentations, panels, and workshops led by industry leaders, aimed at expanding and provoking ideas. Following the Labs, artists are supported through a research and development phase which includes partnership and presentation scoping as well as mentorship with the Program Producer.
Generate GC Generate GC is a two-year program. The 2025-26 cohort and Program has now been finalised. It includes seven local artists from a range of artforms including visual arts, performance, film and public art.
