Gold Coast Libraries provide a range of free programs and services for members of the community who speak English as a second language.

Harmony week

Harmony Week is supported by the Australian Government. It occurs annually in March with Harmony Day on 21 March which is the United Nations' International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The theme of Harmony Week is 'Everyone Belongs'. It is about respect, inclusion and belonging for all Australians – regardless of cultural background.

Queensland Multicultural Month

In August each year we celebrate Queensland Multicultural month, which is focused on creating a more inclusive multicultural Queensland through learning, action and celebration.

Join in this August and beyond to celebrate and learn about different cultures by hosting your own or joining local cultural events and activities.

Refugee Week is Australia's peak annual activity to inform the public about refugees and celebrate positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society.
