Dubai is one of the 7 emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is the largest and most populous city within the UAE. It is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and enjoys rich cultural diversity with over 200 nationalities. Dubai's landscape is a combination of sandy desert, shallow shores and coral reefs. The main drivers of Dubai's economy are tourism, aviation, real estate and financial services while healthcare, technology and clean energy are other steadily growing sectors.

Population: Dubai has a population of 3.4 million.

Language: Arabic is the official language of Dubai however many Emiratis also speak excellent English.

Location: Dubai stretches along the Arabian Gulf coast for 72 kilometres and shares borders with Abu Dhabi in the south, Sharjah in the northeast, and Oman in the southeast.

Climate: There are only two real seasons in Dubai, summer and winter. Summer starts around mid-April, with the temperature gradually increasing until it reaches highs of 45°C through to October. Humidity is generally high during the summer. Winter starts around the beginning of November changing from extremely hot and humid to comfortable, cool days. January is the peak of winter where the temperature could drop to 15°C.
