City place making

City place making is urban renewal of the city's commercial centres and public places. These upgrades enhance our lifestyle and can provide opportunities for small business entrepreneurs, promoting prosperity for the city. There are currently 3 city place making programs: Precinct master planning; Place making projects and Tactical urbanism projects.

Place making master planning

The commercial areas (including industrial areas) of many activity centres across the Gold Coast will be the subject of planning for precinct place making.

Place making projects

These are large capital upgrade projects that have been identified in a precinct master plan. They include substantial changes to improve public areas.

Tactical urbanism projects

Tactical urbanism focuses on low-cost, small scale, incremental improvements to neighbourhoods and city gathering places.
