Free trees
A selection of native trees and shrubs are available every year through our Free Tree Program.
The species offered vary throughout the year and depend on availability. Generally, the plants range in size from tube stock to 200-millimetre pots.
Residents – 2023 collection dates and locations
The program is open between January and May each year, and trees will be available for collection from the locations listed below.
Residents can collect 3 free trees* per household. If you will be collecting trees for more than one property, you will need to provide a current rates notice for each property.
All free trees are to be planted on your property, not on Council-controlled land.
*Subject to availability. Free Trees runs from 8am to 2pm. Truck will leave if all plants are given away.

Body corporates
Body corporates or unit complex managers are eligible to request 10 free trees per complex per year. All requests must be:
- on letterhead
- accompanied with details of 5 ratepayers from the unit complex
- emailed to Parks & recreational Services.

We will then issue you with an approval letter. You must bring this letter with you when collecting the trees.
Trees can be collected on every Wednesday from 7.30am to 2pm between January and May at the Coombabah Nursery, Shelter Road, Coombabah.
Schools
Schools are eligible to receive 50 free trees per year. All requests must be on letterhead and signed by the Principal.

Community groups
Applications for community groups are a consideration of the Divisional Councillor and can be made through the community grants page.
