The John Franklin Memorial Fellowship Trust was established in memory of Councillor John Franklin who passed away in April 1993. The Trust commemorates John's love of life and his untiring involvement in the local community.

The 2022 John Franklin Fellowship awards were presented during the Mudgeeraba Sunset ANZAC Day ceremony on Monday 25 April 2022. Congratulations to Ella Glen and Lilly-Rae Florey who were awarded the 2022 fellowship.
The 2023 John Franklin Memorial Fellowship will be inviting applications in early 2023.
