Beach goers can crown the Gold Coast’s most popular beach, with the annual beaches survey kicking off on Monday.

The survey aims to understand what the community wants when it comes to providing services and infrastructure in and around Gold Coast beaches.

Burleigh took the top gong last year as the city’s most visited beach, with the popular beach closely followed by Currumbin and The Spit.

Inspecting Surfers Paradise beach today, Mayor Tom Tate said the annual consultation helped the City understand how people use our beaches and how beach experience can be improved.

“Our beautiful beaches are one of our most important assets and we want to ensure everyone enjoys them for generations to come.

“Our survey will help us better understand what we’re doing well and how we can improve our beach experience for both locals and visitors.

“We invest more than $20 million each year into coastal management programs to ensure our beaches are healthy and well maintained.”

Have Your Say community consultation runs from 15 November to 5 December.

Key findings from 2020 annual beach user survey:
