City Lights Program

We can light up a range of landmarks in specific colours to promote major events or support community awareness campaigns. The locations currently available include:

Surfers Paradise

  • Isle of Capri Bridge
  • Surfers Paradise sign at the beach end of Cavill Mall
  • Decorative garden lighting along the Surfers Paradise foreshore

Broadbeach

  • Broadbeach sign in Victoria Park
  • Decorative lighting in Victoria Park

Guidelines

An expression of interest can be made anytime throughout the year and will be used to develop a calendar for the City Lights Program. Submissions will be reviewed in the order they are received. A new submission is required for any subsequent event/campaign. Council reserves the right to change the calendar for the City Lights Program in order to maximise the vibrancy of the Gold Coast, including changing colours without notice.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Must be a major event or community awareness campaign
  2. Must provide a benefit to Gold Coast residents
  3. Submissions must:
    • be made by the organisation who owns the major event or community awareness campaign
    • request to light up the assets for no greater than 7 nights in duration
    • be for a major event or community awareness campaign occurring within the next 12 months.

Fees

Should we accept your expression of interest to light up the above listed assets, no fees will apply.
