Disaster Recovery Hero Award

The City of Gold Coast Disaster Recovery Hero Award recognises the incredible efforts of individuals and community members who stepped up to help others recover after Tropical Cyclone Alfred and the severe storms and heavy rainfall over Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024.

Since these events, we’ve seen the strength of our community with people coming together to support each other in powerful ways. This award celebrates those everyday heroes and the unwavering spirit of the Gold Coast.

Do you know someone who went above and beyond to help after these weather events? Whether it was neighbours and friends coming together to assist with the clean-up or someone who started a community initiative to support those affected, we’d love to hear their story. Nominate them today.

Before completing your submission, please read the following awards criteria and tips to ensure the nomination is eligible and all relevant information is supplied.

Nominations close Tuesday 8 July.
