Gold Coast businesses are being empowered to be a part of the city’s more than $4 billion export industry.

The City’s Export Expo was held today giving Gold Coast businesses the chance to learn more about taking their business, no matter the size, global.

“The Gold Coast is the home to many innovative and creative enterprises, and we are committed to supporting them take their business to the world,” Gold Coast Acting Mayor Donna Gates said.

“The Export Expo allowed businesses to learn from experts and Gold Coast companies about the best way to maximise export opportunities.

“The expo is one of many initiatives we have for businesses which aim to reduce barriers and help them thrive internationally.

“The Gold Coast has built a diverse economy and support for export will help many of our key export industries flourish and creating more jobs and sustainable futures for local businesses.”

The City also provides export support through:

  • Dedicated trade and export advisers
  • The Emerging Export Program
  • The Export Assistance Scheme
  • Trade missions; and
  • Sister cities and international delegations.

The key markets for the Gold Coast have been identified as the USA, the UK, the UAE, Singapore and Japan.
