Free trees
A selection of trees and shrubs, including natives are available every year through our Free Tree Program.
The species offered vary throughout the year and depend on availability. Generally, the plants range in size from tube stock to 200-millimetre pots.
Residents – 2025 collection dates and locations
The program is open between January and June each year, and trees will be available for collection from the locations across the city.
Residents can collect 3 free trees* per household. If you will be collecting trees for more than one property, you will need to provide a current rates notice for each property.
All free trees are to be planted on your property, not on Council-controlled land.
*Subject to availability. Free Trees runs from 8am to 2pm. Truck will leave if all plants are given away.
